SharePoint 2010 offers a better development platform and probably faster search capabilities as well. Sharepoint 2010 has Improved User Interface

Ribbon Menu:
SharePoint 2010 has the Ribbon UI in all the pages. Ribbon UI is introduced in Office 2007 and now Microsoft implemented the same concept in SharePoint 2010 to provide the rich and user friendly navigations. Microsoft posted the document for developers about creating and modifying the Ribbon Menu. If we don’t want the Ribbon UI we can use the old SharePoint navigation.

Dialogs:
SharePoint 2010 has the real dialog boxes to reduce the post back and display the options in other pages. The background is grayed out when the dialog box is popup.

Themes:
Themes are improved in SharePoint 2010. Now we can preview our theme before accept it. Also we can create our themes in PowerPoint and upload & apply it for SharePoint site. I feel this is a very cool feature; any user can easily create their themes and use it for their sites.

Now we need to add the Silverlight web part in the web part page, and we need to specify the path of .XAP file in web part tool pane. That’s it, now we can see our application in Silverlight web part.

VISIO Integration:
If we are using the VISIO 2010, now we can publish the VISIO diagrams into SharePoint. The cool piece is, end users no need to have the license for VISIO.

Search:
The FAST search mechanism is added into SharePoint 2010 to provide the better search experience. Search results also include the data from the other sources and business data.

SharePoint Workspace:
SharePoint Workspace is an application bundled with Office 2010 suite. It enables the user to work with SharePoint data in Offline mode.

Business Connectivity Service:
In SharePoint 2010 improved version of BDC is called as BCS. It enables the users to connect with LOB applications, Web Services and other external Databases.

Silverlight:
SharePoint 2010 has the Silverlight web part by default and it’s very simple to deploy the Silverlight applications. We can create our Silverlight application based on our need. After that just upload the .XAP file into any document library.

Most popular feature is that it adds a new menu item to the Site Actions menu that attaches the debugger

Pay-per-click search engine marketing can be configured bit easily with immediate results that can be measured and customized..
Organic search engine optimization is a long, never-ending process that takes a lot of thought, discipline, and effort.
